Care Guide
Caring for Cashmere
At PÉTALES, craft and care are inseparable.
Cashmere is a living material.
Its softness, resilience, and warmth evolve with time and care.
At PÉTALES, we design our garments to be worn regularly and maintained thoughtfully, allowing the fiber to retain its integrity over seasons.
Wearing & Resting
Cashmere benefits from rest.
After wearing, allow the garment to breathe before returning it to the wardrobe. This helps the fibers recover their natural elasticity.
Avoid repeated wear without intervals.
Cleaning
We recommend professional dry cleaning for best results, particularly for tailored or structured pieces.
If hand washing is preferred:
- Use cold water only
- Apply a mild detergent formulated for cashmere or wool
- Do not soak, wring, or rub
- Gently press out excess water with a towel
Lay flat to dry, reshaping while damp.
Never tumble dry.
Pilling
Pilling is a natural characteristic of fine cashmere fibers and does not indicate inferior quality.
Pills can be removed carefully using a cashmere comb.
Regular, gentle maintenance preserves the garment’s surface over time.
Storage
Store cashmere folded, never hanging.
Keep garments clean before seasonal storage, and protect with natural moth deterrents.
Avoid plastic covers.
Breathability is essential.
A Material That Responds to Care
With proper attention, cashmere develops a softness and depth unique to the wearer.
Care is not a constraint — it is part of the experience.
